God Image & Mental Health

On Wednesday, March 1st at 6pm in Immanuel’s Chapel, pastoral counselor and therapist Chris O’Rear will offer a presentation on a way of assessing a person’s “personal theology”, which is a set of beliefs or principles that go beyond the person’s professed beliefs. The program invites the participant to reflect on their own views and beliefs about various aspects of faith including image of God, how one makes meaning of suffering, the concept of sin, faith, grace, and gratitude. How a person understands God affects their view of themselves, others, and the world.
