Room in the Inn

This winter Immanuel will once again partner with Room in the Inn to welcome homeless guests to our church for food, rest, and fellowship. This ministry provides many opportunities for people of all ages “to wholeheartedly serve those on the margins of society.”

On the first and third Thursdays of the month from November through March, we will provide a hot meal, friendly conversation, snack sacks, a place to rest, breakfast in the morning, and sack lunches to go for 10 guests. You can help by being one of the 20-25 volunteers needed each time we host Room in the Inn: setting up the room, providing a portion of the meal, serving and dining with our guests, staying overnight, cleaning up on Friday morning, doing laundry, or driving the van.

Donations are welcome for the following men’s clothing items that are in good condition:
-       Work pants (blue jeans or khakis)
-       Long-sleeved and short-sleeved shirts
-       Belts
-       Work shoes or tennis shoes/sneakers
-       Underwear (new only)
-       Coats or jackets
-       Work gloves

We also need travel-sized shaving cream and disposable razors, but NOT any other toiletries - no soap, no shampoo, no conditioner, no lotion. 

We will be hosting Room in the Inn on the following evenings during the winter of 2017-2018: November 2, November 16, December 7, December 21, January 4, January 18, February 1, February 15, March 1, March 15. Sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin board across from the parlor.
